General Information
We have nearly finished the update of the restrooms in the social quarters area. Probably one more days work and it will be done. But I'm not finished with projects I want to get done in my last year of Lodge Governor.
NEW CARPET !!! We seriously need to replace the carpet in the social quarters. I have measured and approximated cost to be about $1200 including installation. Sounds like a lot? Not really if we all pull together to get it done. I am going to be putting up a donation sheet for members to donate funds and I will donate the first $100 dollars. I challenge each member to match that ! 12 members at $100 dollars each and I will be the first. It could easily be done and desperately needs to be done.
LIGHTING UPDATE ! New light fixtures over the bar. Then other lighting projects can be done as suggested by members. Lights over the bar are about $300 or $50 per light fixture. That will make a big difference.
Anyone noticing a trend here? I think we need to brighten up the social area and bring it up to the 21st century. There are other reasonable fixes we can do without "breaking the bank" and suggestions are always welcome. (along with volunteers to do the work)I truly believe this is something we need to do to draw in the next generation of Moose. The days of old smokey, dimly lit bar room with sixties era furnishings need to be replaced, a renovation if you will. So far on the "New Carpet" challenge board I put up, we have pledges equaling $500. That's fantastic. It's just a little under %50 of what we need. When we get closer to the goal we will form a committee to shop around and bring back color swatches for consideration Folks I am ecstatic with the results so far. Lets keep this going and get it done in July ! We can definitely make that goal. It doesn't have to be $100 or $50 pledges. I was just trying to drum up some competitive spirit Maybe between the Men and Women" What do you think WOTM, are you up to a challenge? Don't make the men chose colors or you might end up with camouflage!
